This fiberglass work, called “The People” was originally created by the sculptor Don Bartlett of Columbia, Missouri. The work was purchased by the Boone County National Bank of Columbia, Missouri in 1976. After many years in place at the Fountain Entrance, the sculpture had lost much of it’s original protective patina. The fiberglass was cleaned, cracks and deterioration repaired, re-fiber glassed and repainted with a color match of the original surface and clear coated with a mat UV protectant. The restoration took place in 2008. |
